Dear Parents,
My name is Michael Black and I have served the Spring/Woodlands area for the last thirteen years by teaching Aikido to your children. I know that there are many Martial Arts to choose from. By choosing Aikido you have set your child on the path of maturity.
Unlike competitive Martial Arts that vie for the trophy or medal by defeating others, Aikido is not a competitive sport. Aikido's philosophy is about victory over the self, very similar to the quote by Coach John Wooden:
"Don't try to be better than someone else". Always try to be the best you can be".
This is the foundation of our approach and the cornerstone of our teaching. In my thirty years of teaching the Martial Arts, I have had the opportunity to teach many different styles and traditions. Aikido is the only Martial Art I will teach children. I believe it is the best Martial Art that addresses the issues of today's children, and just as importantly, prepares them for a brighter more enlightened future as an adult.
Our Rock Solid Kids program is for all children starting at a mature five years old.
